Mortgage rates are finally dropping
The Federal Reserve Board has finally indicated that inflation may be under control and that future rate cuts may be ahead in 2024. The mortgage rates have been very favorable with rates returning to the mid to high 6% range but there is still very limited inventory. Homes that are priced well can still receive multiple offers. Do you own a condo on oahu? Check with your association about Hurricane coverage
Recently we have been made aware that due to the rising costs of insurance, some buildings and associations may be "under-insured" in their hurricane policies. The insurance policies for the buildings are a growing concern for lenders, buyers and sellers. There may be instances where a local bank may deny a mortgage for a building based on their insurance coverage and the buyer may have to look to a mainland lender for a mortgage.
